Primary Information for Executing this Exercise


To effectively embark on this exercise routine, there are a few key pieces of essential information you need to know. These primary details will guide you in performing the exercises correctly and maximizing the benefits of your workout.

  • Anytime you repeat movements you are at risk of an over use injury. Be mindful and vary the type of movements you practice today.

    Reminder = Friendly nudge to remember to do the right thing.

  • Climb on the Training Board at a level where you can repeat the boulder at least once. But the goal is to be climbing at a level where you can predictably repeat the climb and strengthen a skill. 



    NOTE | It’s Okay if you fall and need to give it more than one attempt.

    Goal = Each exercise will have a general stated purpose.

  • 1) Find a boulder in the app that is in your “Engaged & Focused” or “Problem Solving” range and helpful to practice one of your skill builder exercises.



    2) Visualize or rehearse how you might apply one of your skill builders on that boulder.



    3) You may want to practice applying that skill builder on a single move before trying it from the beginning.



    4) Rest then climb the boulder from the beginning. 



    5) Reflect on how you applied your intention.



    6) Repeat and practice your intent one or more times on that boulder problem. The goal is to do better or feel growth in the skill.



    7) Begin your rest period and repeat the process on your next set.

Essential knowledge to be Effective 

To embark on any exercise routine successfully, it is crucial to have a strong foundation of essential information. This knowledge will ensure that you perform the exercises appropriately to maximize the benefits of your workout. This section will provide you with the necessary depth to best perform this exercise.

  • 1) Be able to repeat a boulder well twice in a row using similar beta.



    2) Flash climbs that are in your “Easy” range then improve on your repeat attempt.



    3) Climb an “Easy” but challenging boulder but anticipate where you should direct your focus on your 1st attempt today.

    

4) Repeat a climb that is “Engaged & Focused” but reflect and improve the execution of it some manner on the next attempt.



    5) Practice the focus point on the wall before repeating the boulder to define success.

    

6) Repeat a climb that is in your “Problem Solving” range but reflect and improve the execution of it some manner on the next attempt.



    7) Feel what you want to execute on the wall but experience it in your body on the ground.

    Progressions = An exercise might have a series of stages to progress through as you improve in your competency level.

  • Vary the session so you are in your “Engaged & Focused” zone most of the time but also stretch into the easy “Problem Solving” zone.

    It’s OK to drop down into your “Easy” zone when you are tired or need to build up your confidence.

    Intensity = Explanation of the desired level of effort for this exercise.

  • Best if you are getting on boulders that you have done in the past and like the movement.



    Look for positive growth that you did on each attempt.

    Tips = An exercise might have suggestions on how best to execute the exercise.
